I learned this lesson when I was  young:  Keep It Simple Silly.  It pertains to a lot of things in grown up life too: recipes, furniture, emails, and the list can go on.  When you keep an outfit simple, it doesn’t mean you can’t add one signature accessory to still bring it all together.  I love a semi-flashy chunky necklace or dangly earrings to add on to a simple outfit. (But never both at the same time!)  It means you’re not high maintenance, but you still want to look put together.  Or at least that’s how I would see it!
