DIY Chalkboard Sign
Inspired by my favorite TJ’s grocery store, I was obsessed with having several romantically designed DIY chalkboards at our wedding. They had to be tall and impressive. And they had to be made by me. Just another DIY wedding project that tired me out before our big day. It took a lot of work to make all 6 chalkboards and design them, but the end result was totally worth it, don’t you think?
DIY Chalkboard Materials:
2 – 4′x8′ plywood boards (I got them at Home Depot and had the nice employee help me cut them up into the sizes I needed. Each board made me 1-4′x2′ and 2-6′x2′ boards. So I made a total of 3 signs with each board.)
1 can – Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Paint (I got the kind where you can choose the color from Jill’s Paint in Atwater. I split one can into two and made one black and one grey. The grey was the perfect shade to match my wedding colors.)
1 can – Paint Primer
1 pack – Crayola sidewalk chalk
A ruler and a template for what you want to write helps too
I still have these boards and am looking forward to using it to decorate the house during the holidays. Might be perfect for our Harvest Dinner Party!

Yes – it looks like it was worth it to make the chalkboards! Beautiful – even feels Parisian!

What a novel way to use chalkboards! They certainly do add that special touch.

Bravo on the project, project pictures, and great memories from the event. You will know what to say for years when people ask..where did you get the chalk boards..
